Chef Aaron Tan (陈健倫) was appointed Executive Sous Chef of InterContinental Singapore in March 2023, while retaining his role as the Executive Chinese Chef at Michelin-recommended Cantonese Restaurant, Man Fu Yuan renowned for its modern culinary presentations underpinned by authentic Cantonese craftsmanship.
He plays a key role in supporting the Executive Chef in overseeing the hotel’s culinary operations across its portfolio of restaurants, banquet and off-site catering.

Boasting close to 30 years of culinary and catering experience, his journey in culinary arts began at the tender age of 12 in the kitchen of a restaurant in his hometown of Perak where he was working part time. Accepting the head chef’s challenge to whip up a meal of fried rice, the sense of pride and accomplishment Aaron derived from this simple, yet significant achievement spurred him to pursue a career in the kitchen.



WORKS


He has won many culinary accolades over the years, including the Gold Award in the dim sum category at the 2017 World Master Chefs Competition for Cantonese Cuisine held in Hong Kong, and champion at the Lee Kum Kee International Young Chef Chinese Culinary Challenge 2016 where he edged out 42 chefs from around the world to also clinched Gold and Distinction Awards for his creation.

Aaron currently also serves as the Vice-president in the Society of Chinese Cuisine Chefs (Singapore), and has showcased flavours of the Lion City to an international audience in the Singapore Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo 2010.
